Well, these shoes are certainly appropriately named, aren’t they?
They’re also – like so many other shoes I’ve featured here recently – very obviously channelling the “Daffodil” look. I say that a lot, don’t I? It seems like this shape has started to rather dominate the shoe world at the moment, though, with Topshop being just the latest in a long line of brands to use it.
What does everyone think of these? I went from not really liking the Daffodils to absolutely loving them, but I’m starting to feel like I’ve come full circle again, because these just look too extreme to me, in an “almost deformed” kind of way. Perhaps I’ve just seen too much of this look now to be really impressed with it, I don’t know.
If you ARE impressed however, you need to know that these are £88, and you can click here to buy them. Will you, though?
(Edited to add: I actually wrote this post a couple of weeks ago – I now see that these have sold out online, and are selling on eBay for £120 and more! If you really love them, and don’t want to pay through the nose, you may still be able to track them down in store…)
Miu Miu released a high heeled version of this shoe earlier this year, which I absolutely loved. Sadly, I can’t afford Miu Miu’s prices, so these Topshop pumps could make for a more affordable stand-in. These have a slightly curved heel, which is also very “Miu Miu”: my one problem with them is the height of it. While I know pretty, mid-heeled courts are hard to find, and those of you who love them are probably jumping for joy at the sight of these, I can’t help wishing they’d gone for a higher-heel – although, then again, if they had, the temptation may have been too strong for me, so perhaps it’s a good thing that they stuck with something more sensible!
If you happen to have visited the Topshop website at any point in the past couple of days, I’m sure you probably guessed that these shoes would be appearing here at some point – probably sooner rather than later. Well, here they are: how could I possibly resist!
These are called Stare2 and they’re aptly named, because they certainly made me stare, that’s for sure. There’s nothing particularly revolutionary about the shape, but the colour is my all-time favourite shade of green, so naturally I think these are all kinds of fabulous.
There’s not much more I can say about these that I haven’t already said about the countless other pairs of green shoes I’ve shown you this year, so I will simply add that they’re £50 and you can click here to buy them. Let’s face it: I probably will…
Topshop has really been on a roll recently when it comes to shoes: in fact, every new product drop seems to include at least one pair that goes straight onto my Wish List, and given that they have new shoes in stock every few days, that’s a LOT of seriously covetable shoes!
My favourites this week (so far, at least) are these ‘Saunter’ platforms, which come in red and black suede, with a leather cage effect at the heel. These have the huge platform which has been seen everywhere this year, ever since Louboutin’s ‘Lady Daffodil’ came out, and it’s matched by a 5.5″ stiletto heel:
Definite WOW factor, there!
These are £88: click here to buy them from Topshop.
I’m always in the mood to look at shoes, though, so I’m willing to overlook the fact that Topshop’s ‘Lillie’ sandals have a rather “Christmassy” feel to me (must be the combination of red, velvet and the berries on the top), and focus on some of the other design elements instead. Like those gold heels, for instance:
Love them.
If these are just a little too “Mrs Christmas” for you, though, here’s a black and green version, which tones things down slightly:
These have a lucite heel, which normally wouldn’t appeal to me, but I actually quite like this one:
What do you think?
These are £65, and you can buy both pairs at Topshop: click here to do it!
Looking at the “New In” section of the Topshop website on Friday, I found myself adding one pair of shoes after another to my “to blog about” list, but when I came to actually write about them I realised I couldn’t possibly choose between them all, so I’d have to show you them all!
The colour of these has definite wow-factor for me, but the shape is chunkier than I’d like. Still, they’re the type of shoes which cannot be ignored, and I like the contrast of the patent heel against the suede upper. These are also available in silver and gold.
These ‘Lucite’ glitter platforms also have “wow” factor, although, for some of you, I’d imagine that will be an exclamation of horror rather than delight. The super-chunky sole is so big that it’s almost a wedge, and the shape is reminiscent of some of the styles Giuseppe Zanotti et al have been releasing lately. These are £80.
They’re not the same, obviously, but the contrasting hearts are definitely similar. In this case, however, I think I like the Topshop version more: as you may know, I’m a fan of hearts on shoes (or anything else, really), and the ones on the right of the image above are possibly the only thing that could possibly induce me to buy a white, pointed-toe stiletto.
If white isn’t for you, however, these also come in black, and there’s a version with gold hearts, too. They’re £58 at Topshop: click here to buy them.
I featured Topshop’s ‘Swagger’ platforms when the zebra print version was released back in in July, but I’m sure you’ll forgive me for showing you the same shoe twice when you look at the two beauties pictured above.
Topshop actually have these shoes in a few different colours – including the ubiquitous glitter – at the moment, but these are the two I’d have the hardest time passing up. In fact, I’m actually making a mental note to avoid going anywhere near a branch of Topshop for the next few weeks, because I really don’t think I’d be able to choose between them, and honestly, who needs TWO pairs of identical platform shoes in different colours?
