Shoe Deja Vu: Buffalo Vs Carvela and Topshop

Given the amount of time I’ve spent perusing the latest Buffalo collection recently, it would’ve been hard for me not to notice that the brand is very good at bringing out their own versions of shoes seen elsewhere on the high street. Now, the consensus amongst my readers tends to be that when high street brands “copy” other high street brands, it’s not so much a case of “copying”, exactly, as it is of the shoes all being made by the same manufacturer, and then branded with different names. I’ve no idea whether that’s the case here or not, but it does seem plausible, and as Buffalo and Carvela have very similar price-points, I wouldn’t be at all surprised if that was the reason why Buffalo’s ‘Helene’ sandals (£102) bear such a striking similarity to Carvela’s ‘Kite’ (currently down to £69 from £130). Or, indeed, why Buffalo’s ‘Lingot’

…looks a lot like Topshop’s ‘Priti’ from last season.

Both of the Buffalo shoes are available at Sarenza, although the ‘Helene’ sandals are selling out fast… otherwise they’d probably be making their way to a Shoeperhero near you. (By which I mean “near me”.)
