Two-part and barely-there sandals have been the big shoe trend of summer 2013 – or so far, at least. Actually, the two styles are pretty similar: they both expose a lot of the foot, and they’re both very simple in style, relying on the use of colour to make them either stand out, or blend in as required. Whereas the “barely there” style uses very thin straps at the toe and heel, however, these two-parters from Topshop are slightly more substantial looking, with a wide vamp and high ankle. This is a style that’s become very familiar over the past couple of years, and there seems to be no end to the variations of colour and print which shoes brands are attaching to it.

Of all of those variations, however, my own preference is for a single, bold colour, which creates maximum impact, with minimum fuss. These shoes are perfect in that respect: I adore the green version, but they also come in black in white, if you’re looking for something a little easier to match with other items. As far as that goes, I think these will be really easy to wear. I’ve seen this style of shoe worn both casually and formally, and it translates well to both looks, allowing you to get as much use out of these as possible.
