Topshop shoes: Gwenda pointed courts, £58

You know, it’s been a long time since I found a pair of high street shoes I actually wanted to rush right out and buy. Oh, don’t get me wrong: there have been lots of shoes I’ve LIKED, and lots more which I’d be more than happy to wear if they miraculously appeared on my shoe shelves, without me having to sacrifice something else in order to buy them. But I honestly can’t remember the last time I came across a pair that had me instantly rushing to check my bank balance, with one hand hovering over the “Buy Now” button.

(Well, OK, I tell a lie, I CAN remember the last time that happened. It was those River Island studded court shoes I showed you in the spring/summer preview last week, and which are already available to buy. But BEFORE that… nope, can’t remember.)

These Topshop shoes have done it, though. Available in red, green, yellow, black and white, they’re the perfect example of the simple court shoe done right. These are beautifully shaped, with a sexy, low vamp (toe cleavage ahoy!), and are made from real suede, which makes the £58 price tag seem pretty reasonable. I think they have the look of a much more expensive shoe than that, and they’re also the kind of heels that will never go out of fashion, so you can expect to really get your money’s worth out of them.

My biggest problem (other than that I’m currently completely broke after Christmas, of course) is which colour to go for first. Red is my go-to, and one of the most versatile footwear colours I can think of, but I’ve fallen hard for that bright green shade too, so the decision will be a tough one.

Which colour would you go for?
