Topshop ‘Glass’ perspex heeled court shoes

Topshop 'Glass' heels

Topshop ‘Glass’, £55

No prizes for guessing how these shoes got their name: that perspex heel is designed to make them look like they’re balancing on a block of glass, and a very interesting effect it is, too. When it comes to perspex heels, I think this is the way to go: a thick heel almost always looks classier than a stiletto in this type of material, and it also gives the shoe a rather artistic look, which is definitely preferable to the “stripper” look which can ALSO be the case when perspex and shoes combine.

These shoes pair that clear heel with a delicate floral upper, for a nice, summery look. One word of caution if you’re thinking of buying these, though: according to the reviews on the Topshop website, that upper is actually “pinker” than it looks in the photo, so don’t be surprised when you open up the box and find a slightly different shoe waiting for you.

The only other thing I have to say about these is that as they were released a few weeks ago now, they’re starting to sell out online, so if you do love them, you might have to make trip to your nearest branch if your size isn’t available on the Topshop website. Click here to find out.
