Yes, I know: the name of these shoes confused me, too, because although they’re called ‘Lace’, there doesn’t appear to be a scrap of lace on them. Instead, the uppers are made from a glitter-encrusted fabric, and as far as I’m concerned, if shoes HAVE to have glitter on them, then this is the way I’d like it to be done. These are pretty and sparkly, but don’t look like the result of a child’s art project, which is always a good thing when you’re talking about shoes that cost £325!

Would you be willing to spend £325 on them, though? If you would, you can buy them on the Jimmy Choo website.

Miu Miu glitter embellished platform sandals

I know I’m always saying that I’m not fond of glitter or sequins on shoes, but I should probably STOP saying it, because no sooner are the words out of my keyboard than some glitter-covered shoes will come along, and force me to eat those words. They’re normally made by Miu Miu, now I come to think of it.

These spectacular platform sandals are the latest lovelies to have me thinking, “You know, maybe I DO need a pair of glitter-covered shoes after all?” They’re just begging to be danced in, and even although they have a 5.5 inch heel, I’m sure I’m not the only one who’d love to take them up on that. If you would, too, they’re £365 at Net-a-Porter, which means that if you just set aside one tiny pound every day for the next year, you’ll be able to afford them no problem. And when you put it like that…

Harumi Watanabe sequin and glitter pumps

My, my! Sequins AND glitter, together on the same shoe! Sounds a bit like the kind of thing a pre-schooler would do to a shoe if he was given five minutes alone with it and the craft table: and, actually, it kind of LOOKS like that too, doesn’t it? Those over-lapping sequins, combined with the multicolured glitter, make me think of the kind of thing I’d proudly drag home from nursery school (kindergarten) and make my parents put on display, although if I’d had those kind of mad skillz as a child, I could’ve called myself Harumi Watanabe and charged £371 per pair. Another opportunity missed!

These are presumably designed to appeal to those who take a magpie approach to shoe shopping, going for all that glitters and shines. These shoes will do both: if that sounds good to you, you can buy them  at Louisa Via Roma.

office-party-all-night

I thought we’d kick off Monday morning with a pair of “you’d-have-to-pay-me-to-wear-them” gold, glittry mega-platforms from Office.

You’re welcome.

DKNY ‘Tina’ leather bow pumps

dkny-tina-pumps

DKNY isn’t a brand I’ve featured very often here at Shoeperwoman – in fact, a quick check reveals that these are only the second pair of shoes from the brand to appear here, and the first pair were wellies, so don’t really count.

I’m happy to redress the imbalance now, though, with these ‘Tina’ court shoes, which are everything I love in shoes right now, from the two-tone colour to the little velvet bows on the toes, to the glittery heels. Fancy, but not ridiculously so, they’re available at Net-a-Porter, where they’re £190.

The perfect, sexy pump… in bright pink. With glitter. They’re camper than Christmas, but somehow they’ve made my Monday that little bit brighter.  Thanks, CL!

Well, I can’t blame her, really: if I was Carrie Bradshaw, I’d wear these shoes too. They’re Christian Louboutin’s ‘Pigalle’ stilettos in an amazing gold glitter finish, and Sarah Jessica Parker was snapped wearing them while filming the new Sex and the City movie this week. Read on to see the rest of her outfit…

kurt-geiger-glitter-flatsThanks, Kurt Geiger. At least now we know that even if that ridiculous TUC proposal on high heels ever did come to pass, we’d still be able to come out fighting in our flats.

These ones may not be exactly work appropriate, but they’re proof that flat doesn’t have to mean frumpy. This could be very good news indeed: Vogue et al are predicting that the flat shoe is the way and that “heels are dead“. This terrifies me ever so slightly (OK, a LOT), but at least if the heel does die, these would be some consolation to me.

KG Bella flats, £95, Kurt Geiger

glitter-ballet-pumpsJust to prove that it’s not just designer shoes with high heels that have fallen prey to the Attack of the Glitter this season, here’s a pair of flats from Barratts that look like they’ve taken a bit of a dip in the glitter pot.

As much as I loved those Miu Mius I showed you earlier this week, I’m always a little wary about glitter-covered shoes, which is why I don’t actually own any. I aways imagine the glitter dropping off as I walk around in them, and while I know that’s probably not the case, I’ve yet to succumb.

If you’ve already been well and truly seduced by glitter, though, these flats will give your feet a break from heels, but still look party-appropriate. They’re £20, and also come in black and purple.

I could say more about these, but I think “wow” just about covers it, don’t you?
