Saint Laurent glitter knee boots, 895 EUR
It’s not often that I find myself totally stumped when it comes to styling a pair of shoes, but these Saint Laurent glitter knee boots have done it. Rather than my usual outfit suggestion at the end of this post, then, I’m goig to leave it up to YOU to tell ME how you’d wear them: and, even more importantly, IF you’d wear them. I honestly can’t imagine there are too many people out there who’d be able to pull them off (excepting celebrities wearing them on-stage, or in fashion editorials, perhaps), but if you’re one of them, I’d love to hear how you’d do t!
These are the kind of boots that are so OTT they almost leap out the page at you. The design is very 60s-inspired, with a low, block heel and high leg, but it’s the upper that gets all the attention here. Coated from top to bottom in shimmering silver glitter, these boots are designed to be noticed, and I don’t think they’ll have any trouble at all achieving that aim. They’re amazing to look at, but given that they’d be more at home on the legs of a 60s pop star than on your average woman-on-the-street, they’re definitely not going to be the easiest boots to style. Here’s how MyTheresa suggest wearing them:
They’ve chosen to play up the “rock star” feel of these, and if you were going to wear them, I think that’s probably the best way to do it. Your best accessory here would be tons of attitude, and the ability to ignore all of the stares you’d be guaranteed to get!
So, what do you think? Would you wear these, and if so, how would you do it?
I love them. I want to catwalk through the Starship Enterprise and meet visiting Vulcans in Ten Forward for synth-ahol in them.
I wouldn’t wear them, but that doesn’t mean I don’t like them.
I bought these. Love them. My plan is to wear them to holiday parties this Xmas and New Years.
