Tan is a great shoe colour all year round, but there’s something about autumn that makes it seem even more appropriate, somehow.

These shoes, mind you, would probably only be appropriate for early autumn: that laser-cut upper is delicate and gorgeous, but it’s also on the summery side, and probably won’t be warm enough for the chillier days later in the season. Anytime you CAN get away with wearing these shoes, however, I think they could end up being the star of the show. They may be simple in shape (and very similar to some of Kate Spade’s other pointed pumps), but there’s nothing simple about that floral patter, or the scalloped trim, which combine to create a really interesting effect…

Although tan, as I’ve mentioned, is one of the most versatile colours out there, one of my favourite shades to wear with it is a deep, forest green – another great shade for the coming season. With that in mind, I’ve put together an autumn-inspired outfit, which is casual, but pulled-together:

♥  Even & Odd green skinny jeans   ♥   Karen Millen navy peacoat  ♥  French Connection sweater  ♥  Tod’s tote bag

When the weather gets too cold for pumps, meanwhile, a pair of ankle or knee-high boots in the same shade of tan would also look great with this outfit – although the footwear probably wouldn’t be quite as pretty as these are!
