Red platform pumps by Kurt Geiger:
I don’t normally like to feature the same brand back-to-back (If you haven’t seen it yet, yesterday’s post about Miss KG shoes is here…), but Miss KG is on a bit of a roll at the moment, and these red platform pumps are one of a few of their shoes I have lined up to show you.
These are actually something of a flashback for Miss KG, in that the shape reminds me very much of the ‘Minnie’ pumps the brand released a couple of years ago – and which I, of course, rushed right out and bought. The knotted bow and almond-toed platform is almost identical to that older shoe, and although this is a style we don’t see too often these days (it’s been overtaken in popularity by the pointed toe pump), I think they still look current enough not to feel TOO ‘2011’. In fact, for those of you who haven’t ever gotten on board with the pointed-toe trend, these could be a very welcome relief!
A red upper and an over-sized bow is an almost-guaranteed route to my heart, but I’m curious to know what everyone else makes of these. Do they look a little dated after such prolonged exposure to non-platform styles, or are you hoping this is the beginning of a platform pump revival? If you’re in the latter camp, here’s an outfit to wear with these:
What to wear with red platform pumps:
♥ Coast black and white stripe dress ♥ Vero Moda white blazer ♥ Moschino watch ♥ Tom Ford handbag ♥ Tommy Bahama sunglasses
The black-and-white-stripes-plus-red-shoes formula is one I come back to again and again: in fact, sometimes I have to actively try to force myself to wear some other colour of shoes with stripes, just for a change. More often, though, I just go with it – no point in avoiding the looks you like best, after all!
Minnie! That’s exactly what I thought when I saw these. They are slightly dated, but I still love them.
