I showed you a pair of “daytime” loafers yesterday, and now here’s the evening/party version, courtesy of Miu Miu!
There’s a bit of a disconnect going on for me with these shoes, because the rather “sensible” shape of a loafer seems to be slightly at odds with the glittery uppers: I can’t help feeling that if I wanted a pair of OTT glitter shoes, I probably wouldn’t want them to be loafers, but leave it to Miu Miu to confound our expectations, and although I’ve described these as “evening” shoes, I actually think the burgundy colour tones down the glitter just enough to allow you to get away with them as part of a daytime look, too. Net-a-Porter have styled them with a simple black dress and tights, and as well as being much less sparkly than some of Miu Miu’s glitter-encrusted creations, I also think they look much better on a foot.
What say you to these, readers? They’re £370 and you can click here to buy them from Net-a-Porter.
Oh, gosh…Loafer is the new black, it seems.
=_=
Yup – I’ve just spotted another couple of pairs at Kurt Geiger: looks like they’re trying to take over the shoe world!
£370 you say? I can’t believe that some crazy shopaholic part of my brain just whispered “bargain”. Slap me now.
I’m torn between love and hate with these. I need more convincing on the loafer with a heel style
I know exactly what you mean – I thought the same thing when I looked at the price! It’s a lot, but it’s actually *whispers* not bad for Miu Miu…
I actually think these are cute, but as daytime shoes. I totally hate sensible shoes like loafers, but the glitter and the platform and heel make them acceptable. But loafers as evening shoes – I can’t see that happening regardless of the amount of glitter.
I can’t see myself embracing the loafer trend in a hurry.
I am actually loving this ones. So shiny *.*
