The Party Shoes: Missguided ‘Selena’ gold glitter pumps, £29.99
Sparkly enough for you?
They should be: these ‘Selena’ pumps by Missguided are about as glittery as it gets, with only the stiletto heel escaping a dousing from the glitter stick. Missguided are relative newcomers to the shoeniverse, having launched their first footwear collection earlier this year. Since then, they’ve been doing an awesome job of making cute, affordable shoes, which are always on-trend: these shoes being a case-in-point.
With the Christmas party season being just a few weeks away (Yes, I know we haven’t even had Halloween yet, but Christmas comes early to the retail world: very, very early…) we can probably expect a deluge of glitter-covered shoes. They’re the perfect party shoes, though: nothing says “festive season” quite like a sprinkle of glitter, and gold pumps with a dose of added sparkle are a surefire winner. These ones apply the shiny stuff to a classic, pointed pump, which is a good way to make them party-appropriate, without looking like they fell out of a Christmas cracker. I love the shape of these, and think the upper gives them real “wow” factor. Here’s one way to wear them:
The style: dress // coat // hair slides // bag
Pink and gold is a favourite colour combination of mine, but if you’re less keen, these shoes also come in black and silver, both of which would come in handy during the upcoming party season. It would be irresponsible of me to suggest that you use the low price tag as an excuse to buy all three, but if you can narrow your choice down to just one, at least it’ll give you some money left over for the dress.. and the coat. The bag, meanwhile, won’t be to everyone’s taste, but adds an additional bit of texture: and I do love a bit of faux fur!
Is the scoring system new? What a great idea! I’d love to hear why you feel this pump scores a 7 and not a 10.
And thanks for a great shoe find again Shoeperwoman, these would look great with a white dress too!
Yes, it’s just something I’m trying out. Only a very exceptional shoe would get a 10 – this one is nice, but it’s not quite kryptonite 🙂
You keep reminding me I need glitter pumps. One day I’ll actually do something about it.
