Nicholas Kirkwood blue glitter pumps with bow trimmed heels, $1,121
I don’t really have to explain why these shoes are appearing here today, do I? (Other than that every day is a good day to look at amazing shoes, obviously…) That first photo just says it all!
That said, I actually kind of want to just stop at the first photo. I love the bows on the heels, I love the lesser-seen blue glitter upper (We see a lot of glitter-topped shoes, true, but it tends to be either red, black or gold) and the silver trim on the base of the heel and the bows themselves is the perfect finishing touch. What I don’t love quite as much, however, is that flared heel shape. We saw a lot of this last winter, and I wasn’t too keen on it: that hasn’t really changed in the intervening 12 months or so, and I still think that it can look a little dated, especially when combined with the pointed toe and small platform on this shoe.
Still, this is a shoe in which the positives outweigh the negatives: or at least, they do for me. What do you think?

I absolutely love the bow on the heel, but like you I’m not too keen about that flared heel. It just doesn’t look very elegant to me…
I never liked the flared heel, & it put me off many pairs of shoes that I would have loved otherwise. However, this is one instance in which I feel it works. The addition of the bows makes the flared heels look like they do add something to the overall design, & belong there. I do love these shoes. I might have loved them that much more if the feel was SO flared, but they’re gorgeous enough as they are.
I’m with you, not that keen on the shape of the heel but the rest of the shoe is magnificent.
I love them ! I hope “cheaper” brands get some inspirations and make some heel bows soon !
