Well, I did warn you I’d be showing you a lot of Jimmy Choo this month…

These shoes aren’t ones I expect you to like, necessarily: shoes like this rarely go down well here, but I still have to give them points for effort, and these certainly look like a whole lot of that has gone into their creation:

I really love to look at the heels of these, even if I wouldn’t particularly want to wear them. I like to think that Cinderella’s glass slippers would’ve looked a little bit like this (alebit probably without the platform and studded straps), and the heel is gorgeous, even although the uppers don’t exactly say “£1,671 worth of shoe” to me.

Yes. £1,671. That’s how much these cost. Are you even a little bit tempted?

Shoe Kryptonite: Jimmy Choo red gingham ‘Brigitte’ sandals

This is the second pair of Jimmy Choos I’ve shown you this week (and I may as well warn you now, there will probably be more: I’m really liking what I’ve seen of the Spring 2012 collection so far), but when a Shoeperhero stumbles upon kryptonite, she loses all powers of resistance, and can’t be held responsible for her actions…

Which brings me to Jimmy Choos ‘Brigitte’. I absolutely adore these shoes. For me, these are everything that’s wonderful about summer shoes: I’ve always been a sucker for gingham print, with its promise of picnics and sunshine, and it’s vague 50s vibe, and the way these sandals knot at the toe and ankle is just perfect. They’re fun, fabulous, and oh-so-summery… and they’re £650. Which is the only downside that I can find here.

I don’t love these quite as much as I loved Christian Louboutin’s gingham print Greissimos from last summer, but I do love them a LOT. Gingham: it’s absolute kryptonite, for sure!

Every time I look at these Jimmy Choo sandals, I find myself wanting to say “hubba hubba”. Which is honestly weird for me, because if you knew me in real life, you’d know that I NEVER say “hubba hubba”.

Apparently I do now, though, because these shoes? Fabulous. Also, expensive. We’re talking £724, here. Worth it? Well, I’ll let you decide…

Jimmy Choo sepia two-tone leather pumps

When Tamara Mellon announced her decision to leave Jimmy Choo last month, the news left me feeling sadder than I would have expected to. I’ve mentioned before that the brand has never really been one of my absolute favourites, but this past season? Well, it’s been truly magnificent: one of the best ever, in fact, and I’ve gone from being an occasional admired to a full-on fan.

These two-tone pumps are one of the reasons for that. They’re far from the most dramatic style in the current collection, and they will be far too simple for some, but I think they’re beautiful and classic, and the kind of shoes I would wear for years, and mourn when they finally fell apart. That tan and black combination always does it for me: it has a very understated, sophisticated air, and fits in seamlessly to a professional wardrobe, or just a very classic one.

I can only hope that the brand can keep up the good work without Tamara: if you want to grab a pair of these rather than waiting to find out, they’re $850 at Net-a-Porter.

Jimmy Choo Marlene feather and suede sandals

Well, it looks like I’m going to have to take back that whole “not a huge Jimmy Choo” fan thing, doesn’t it? And maybe also the whole “not a big fan of feathers” thing, too. And to be honest, feathers are probably never going to be my favourite fashion accessories: I know they can be amazingly glamorous, but, well ,let’s just say I probably shouldn’t have watched The Birds that time…

These feathers, however, could convert even me, and they gave these shoes instant “wow” factor as I was scrolling through Net-a-Porter yesterday morning. The combination of petrol blue and bright purple is truly stunning, and the whole effect is just over-the-top-amazing, don’t you think? They’re theatrical, glamorous, and… I’m gushing now, aren’t I? OK, I’ll stop. I’ll just add that these are $1,195 (which is another reason why I’m not keen on feathered fashion: I always think I’d find it much easier to ruin feathers than I would most other fabrics, which makes me reluctant to spend a lot of money on an outfit featuring them!) at Net-a-Porter, and while we’re on the subject of Jimmy Choo, I may as well show you these, too:

jimmy choo faye zebra print Jimmy Choo Marlene feather and suede sandalsOnce again, these are exactly the kind of thing I wouldn’t expect to like if you were to just describe them to me without showing me them. I mean, zebra print, flowers, woven ankle straps? It all just sounds too much, doesn’t it? Having seen them, though, all I can think is how beautiful they are… and how expensive, too, at $1,795.

These are also available at Net-a-Porter: what do you think of them?

Jimmy Choo scalloped lace platform peep toes

jimmy choo scaloped lace pumps Jimmy Choo scalloped lace platform peep toesI’m not a big fan of lace, and, as shocking as this admission will probably be to many of you, I’ve never been a huge fan of Jimmy Choo. I know: shoe blogger who doesn’t go crazy for Choo – who ever heard of such nonsense?

I should probably clarify that by saying that I don’t dislike Jimmy Choo, either: it’s just never been my favourite brand: or not until now, because these shoes could seriously start to change my mind. Look:

jimmy choo lace shoes Jimmy Choo scalloped lace platform peep toesThe curved sides would’ve made these stunning in any fabric, but I think the lace adds something special to these shoes, giving them a very delicate, feminine kind of feel. They have a 4 3/4″ heel with a small platform, and they’re $995 at Bergdorf Goodman. Well, there had to be some bad news along with the good stuff, didn’t there?

Jimmy Choo ‘Fairview’ embellished mesh and leather sandals

Excuse the huge image, folks: I figured these shoes deserved to be seen in all their glory!

Meet Jimmy Choo’s ‘Fairview’ sandals, in pale gold leather, which has been hand-stitched with hundreds of Swarovski crystals. They’re not the most practical shoes you’re ever going to find. Even I, proponent  though I am of the practice of wearing dressy shoes with jeans,  would probably struggle to get my money’s worth out of these babies, especially considering that the money in question amounts to £1,295, and I’d probably be terrified to wear them in case I damaged them in some way.

Still, on the plus side, they’re stunning. And if you can overcome the fear of destroying them (Given my Shoe Saving activities, I’m a firm believer that shoes should be worn, not “kept for good”, so I’d definitely be doing my best to fight that particular fear), at least you’d know you’d never have to buy another evening shoe again, because you’d probably be able to wear these to every party, and every special occasion, every year for the rest of your life.

Have I convinced you they’re worthy of saving yet? If I have, click here to buy a pair from Net-a-Porter.

Jimmy Choo ‘Warwick’ leather ballerina flats

jimmy choo warwick ballet flats Jimmy Choo Warwick leather ballerina flatsAs you may have noticed from my photo of my shoe collection last month, I currently own just two pairs of flats, not counting a few additional pairs that are so worn out they’re only fit for walking the dog and mowing the lawn in. One of my shoe aims for this year, then, is to invest in a couple of pairs of nice flats, for those days when heels aren’t appropriate (it does happen sometimes), and I thought a pale pink/nude pair could be a good choice, as they’d go with everything.

These ones by Jimmy Choo totally fit my requirements: the colour is perfect, the uppers come accessorized with a couple of pretty little flowers, which make them slightly more interesting than most ballet flats, and I’ve no doubt the leather is as soft and supple as I could wish for. One problem, of course: they’re £250. My search for new ballet flats continues. If yours ends right here, however, you can click here to buy a pair from Net-a-Porter.
