Jimmy Choo to collaborate with Ugg boots. No, really.

When I first read this news, I had to check my calendar to make sure it wasn’t April 1st (and oh how I wish it was!), but nope, it’s true enough: Jimmy Choo is to collaborate with Ugg Australia and create a limited edition line of sheepskin boots. Isn’t the world strange, sometimes?

Jimmy Choo founder, Tamara Mellon, says that Ugg Australia is the only other footwear brand she wears, other than her own, of course, and this has presumably encouraged her to enter into the collaboration. The boots resulting from it will retail from between £495 and £695 per pair, and will be available from this October. Will people stand in line for them, the way they did at the Jimmy Choo for H&M launch? At those prices I somehow doubt it, but you never know. Watch this space…
