Valentino red microstud bow platform shoes

There are four words in the description of these shoes that made them guaranteed to appear on Shoeperwoman.com sooner or later. Those words are: Valentino, red, bow, studs. Any one of those on their own would be enough to make me take a second look, but  put them all together, and what do you get? Well, you get these shoes, of course! They’re actually pretty understated for studded shoes, but that’s no bad thing when it comes to shoes you’ll wear until they fall apart. And pay $845 for.

My favourite colour, one of my favourite brands, and an absolutely beautiful shoe: it’s like Christmas has come early, isn’t it? Or rather, it would be if these were sitting under my Christmas tree (Confession: I don’t actually have a Christmas tree. But I could probably make one out of shoes if I really put my mind to it…) right now, rather than simply featuring on my website.

I think we need to see another photo of them, don’t you?

The perfect party shoes, these sadly aren’t the perfect price – well, you weren’t really expecting them to be cheap, were you? They’re £739 and you can click here to buy them at Far Fetch.

Valentino peep toes voted sexiest shoes of the year

According to the results of a poll run by Footwear News and Saks Fifth Avenue, these Valentino peep toes are officially the sexiest shoes of 2011.

As I said over at The Fashion Police earlier today, I’m a little surprised. It’s not that I don’t like the shoes, because I actually think they’re really pretty: they just don’t seem quite special, or quite “sexy” enough to be deemed the best of the entire year.

What do you think?

I seem to have inadvertently got a bit of a “pink” theme going at the moment, and these are the second pair of pink toes I’ve found for you this week already! In fairness, these only have a touch of pink on the toe and heel, but the overall effect is still very “Elle Woods”, don’t you think?

Not that this is a bad thing, of course: in fact, my brain just started to concoct an Elle Woods Halloween costume which would give me a legitimate reason to buy these shoes. I’m thinking little tailored jacket (pink, natch), pencil skirt, little fluffy dog… Of course, like my “Louboutin witch” idea last week, that idea probably won’t fly with Shoeperman, given that the shoes are £265, but at least I already have the little fluffy dog, no?

You don’t have to dress like an extra from Legally Blonde to wear these, though: they’d actually be pretty easy to tone down, and are such a classic shape that they should prove to be very versatile. If you want to see for yourself, they’re by Red Valentino, and you can click here to buy them from Saks.

The perfect patent pumps, by Valentino

Sometimes you want your shoes to be a little bit wild and crazy: to stand out in the crowd, make all heads turn, and be so unique that you’ll never see another pair like them.

And sometimes you just want the perfect, simple pump: one that you can wear with anything, and which will always look classic and effortless, and never go out of style.

This is that shoe: it’s by Valentino, it’s available in red or black, and it’s £349.18 from Louisa Via Roma. Oh, and they’ll STILL make all heads turn…

Shoe Deja Vu: Jeffery Campbell does Valentino

Recognise the shape of the bow?

You should do: God knows, I’ve shown you it often enough, although when I’ve featured it before, it’s generally been attached to a pair of Valentinos, although this particular shape has “inspired” quite a few different brands to copy it now (Yes, Paris Hilton, I am looking at you!). This time, it’s attached to Jeffrey Campbell’s ‘Garret’ pumps, which come in either red/pink or blue/turquoise: two combinations guaranteed to set my heart a-flutter!

This is the second time this summer Jeffrey Campbell has given me a strong sense of deja vu. As far as I’m aware, however, Valentino haven’t released their bow pumps in these specific colour combinations, so it’s really just the shape of the bow which is the same, and, of course, the price is significantly cheaper: these will set you back just £97.89 at Nordtrom, while a Valentino bow shoe will be over £400.

I’m in love with the turquoise/blue combination: what do you think of them?

I know, I’m showing you ANOTHER pair of Valentino bow pumps. I do that a lot. I’m sorry.

Actually, you know what? I’m not really sorry. Because when I was in the US this June, I spent rather a lot of time trying on Valentino bow pumps. Specifically these ones:

I’m in love with these shoes. Seriously, if I were to win the lottery, they’re the very first thing I’d buy. In every colour. And in every shape – the also come in a d’orsay style, for instance, and I’d take those too. And actually, you’re probably expecting me to say I like the red best, but it was the black version that really won my heart. They’re so much nicer in person, and, well, they’re just show-stoppers.

Of course, the peep toe wouldn’t be all that practical for the coming winter, and that’s where the pale pink pumps above come into play. This is a slightly different style, and, as you can see, they come with a triple-layered bow rather than a double one. It’s very extravagant, and very attention-grabbing, and it’s the kind of bow that will divide opinion: for instance, I tried on a couple of versions of this shoe, too, and while Shoepermum and I were ALL OVER THEM, Shoeperman and Shoeperdad were pretty aghast by that bow. Maybe it’s a male/female thing, who knows.

Anyway.

If I owned these shoes, I would wear them every day. I would love and cherish them, and at night I would polish them with a silk rag, and I would tuck them up in bed, and maybe give them a little kiss.

OK, I wouldn’t. But I do like them (Er, you guessed that, didn’t you?), and if you like them too, and have a little more money than I do, you can click here to buy them for $775. Treat them well!
