What: Dorothy Perkins nude peep toes
When: Friday, September 3rd, 2010
Where: Date night
With: Top, Primark; belt, gifted; skirt, River Island via eBay
I really wanted to take some outside shots today, because the weather has been so gorgeous lately – the nicest weather we’ve had all summer, in fact! – that it seemed a shame not to make the most of it, but I ran out of time, so ended up just snapping these ones instead. I’m really hoping the Gods of Weather will send some more sunshine for next week, though – everyone I know seems to be desperate for summer to end, but I’m just enjoying every last possible bit of warmth I can get!
These shoes are just a dull-but-useful pair of peep toes which I picked up in the Dorothy Perkins sale a few years ago. They look grey in this photo, but they’re actually nude-ish in real life, so they’ve served me well.
I stalked this skirt on eBay for weeks before one came up in my size, having missed out on it both when it was in-store and when it was on sale. I ended up getting it for less than the sale price, but I’m pretty sure the person who sold it to me has taken the hem up at some point, because it’s shorter than I remember it being in store. Ah well, I guess I can always stalk another…
I can’t believe it’s September and I’m still managing to get away with bare legs and arms! Maybe there’s hope for the rest of my summer shoes yet!
“Please keep shining, sun… please keep shining…”
Have a great weekend, everyone!
Those shoes really suit you!
Over here in Germany we had a wonderful summer (temperatures over 30°C for weeks!), but it seems to have gone to you now and left us for good. Enjoy it while it lasts, I’ve been wearing tights under my jeans for the whole week now…
I really really really loved your skirt!!!! Hope you get a lot of sun during the weekend!
Presently it is 94°F outside, and I love it. I hate cold weather.
They look like the kind of shoes that go with everything. Happy weekend to you Amber!
The skirt is just the right length Amber. We are slowing moving into Australian spring time & I am using your Summer Shoe Challenge pics to plan my summer purchases. I really, really need the perfect nude pump (preferably peep toe and patent) for summer. If you have any suggestions?
Aldo are usually pretty good for that spec. so worth a try. Examples of similar styles: http://www.aldoshoes.com/uk/women/shoes/platform-heels/75810446-moos/35 and http://www.aldoshoes.com/uk/women/shoes/peep-toe-heels/77538853-withey/32 However, I don’t think they currently do online shopping in Australia but they do have some stores scattered around there: http://www.aldoshoes.com/australia/controller.cfm?dynamicPage=storelocations&lang=eng
I was actually going to suggest Aldo, too – they have some great nude styles at the moment – but Monica beat me to them! Unfortunately I know next to nothing about which brands are available in Australia, but I have been coveting these for ages now, and it’s an Australian site:

Not sure what your budget is, but these are gorgeous, although heavily Louboutin influenced, as are many of the shoes on the site. If I could afford to, I’d buy these in all of the available colours 🙂
Amber, you look fantastic as always! I hope the sunshine stays too. I’m coming up to Scotland (from England) in a couple of days and it is just my luck that the current 5 day weather forcast says “sunny intervals” for the days before I’m there and then “heavy rain” on the day I arrive! Typical!
Oh, I’ll keep everything crossed that the weather stays – it’s really the best weather we’ve had in ages: I’m going to want to cry when it breaks!
Love the skirt, I don’t think it’s too short at all!
In Belgium we’ve had miserable weather as well for the last couple of weeks. July was gorgeous, after that it all went downhill. I did go out with bare legs as well today, woop woop!
I love that skirt, as usual you look stunning and I am jealous. 🙂
I love your shoe shelf. They are out there and getting to breathe and enjoy the world as they deserve!
Also, not to jinx it, but over here in Canada we had great weather which took a turn for the worse in a matter of one day – leaving no hope for anything other than closed-toes. But at least it means boot weather is on the way, right? I’m just sorry for the wood-wedge sandals I wore once this summer (kind of glad I was too weak to sign up for your shoe challenge!)
Love your blogs!
Cute!
May it be a sunny September!!! 😀
I love the contrast of your hair and that green cardigan. Are there any colors, as a redhead, that you don’t like to wear?
I don’t wear reds or pinks next to my hair, but that’s just a personal preference – I know lots of redheads who look great in those colours.
