SHOES: Prada aubergine peep toes
SAVED: Sunday, September 11, 2011
SIDEKICKS: Purple dress, ASOS
Friday’s humidity was long gone by Sunday, but I bravely soldiered on with saving shoes. Because I’m a Shoeper Hero, you see: no weather will stop me!
These shoes are by Prada, and they’re the holder of the coveted title of Most Comfortable Heels I Own:
OK, it’s nothing like wearing slippers. But they’re so cleverly made that even although thye have a high heel, you feel almost like you’re wearing flats. Plus, the leather is so soft and buttery that they’re a pleasure to wear. More so than most shoes, I mean.
I actually hadn’t included these on the list of shoes I need to save before the end of summer (I have an ACTUAL list, by the way: I’m not just saying that), because as well as being a “wintry” kind of colour, the toe embellishment is karge enough that it hides a large part of the peep toe, and makes these one of the few pairs of open-toed shoes which I’m happy to wear with tights. I wore them that way last time I saved them, though, so I thought I’d do something slightly different this time.
I had to go down a size in these, which was lucky, because I got them on sale, and this was the only pair left. They fit as if they were made for me, though, so I think it was meant to be. That’s what I tell myself, anyway.
I have just three pairs of “summer” shoes left to save, and two of those can be worn with tights anyway: I think I can do it. I just need to keep reminding myself that once the summer shoes are out of the way, I still have the rest of the winter ones to get through: I’ve been looking forward to the end of this stage of the challenge as if it’s the end of the whole thing, but I still have a long way to go yet! Roll on February…
