Guess ‘Carden’ brown suede shoe boots, £160.65
Now that autumn has well and truly arrived, I decided to go for a pair of seasonally-appropriate boots for this month’s Sarenza pick.
These ones are by Guess, and I chose them because, as well as filling a hole in my shoe collection (I have a few pair of black ankle/shoe boots, but no brown ones, and last winter I kept finding myself wishing I had a pair), I just really love the shape of these. I’ve spoken a few times now about my love of shoe boots, which I find really versatile winter essentials, given that you can so easily wear them with either trousers or dresses, and these ones have a very classic shape, which will allow me to get lots of wear out of them.
These are beautifully made, in brown suede, with a 4.3″ heel and an elasticated panel on the side, so you can just pull them on and off. So far we’re still getting a lot of luck with our weather, so it hasn’t been quite cold enough for me to switch to boots and tights, but I’ve taken these for a few laps around the house, and they seem very comfortable, partly because there’s also a very small, concealed platform, to make that heel feel shorter. One thing I forgot to mention in my post about how to walk in high heels is that I tend to find boots much more comfortable than shoes when it comes to heels: because of the high sides, your ankle is being supported, and you also don’t have to worry about the shoe slipping off, as is sometimes the case with pumps, so a high heeled boot can actually be more comfortable than it looks, and that seems to be the case with these.
In terms of sizing, I ordered my usual size 37, and they fit perfectly, so I’d say these are true to size. They also come in a gorgeous black leather version, if you’re not so keen on suede!

[Disclosure: these boots were partly paid for using a gift code provided by Sarenza. All opinions are my own.]
I adore these! They would go with about 80% of my wardrobe!
These are so beautiful!
And I agree about the boots being more comfortable than pumps! I noticed it too. They support your ankles and it’s much easier to walk on high heeled boots than high heeled pumps.
