Sergio Rossi pumps, £415
Toe cap pumps were all over the place a couple of seasons ago, before gradually starting to disappear from the Shoeper radar. I consider this style to be a classic, rather than a “trend”, though, so I was happy to stumble across this pair by Sergio Rossi, which use an unusual turquoise and camel colour combination.
I say “unusual”: these actually really remind me of a pair of Kurt Geiger heels from last year, although I think the Kurt Geigers may have used pink rather than turquoise. Either way, the idea is the same: a neutral upper mixed with a lighter, brighter shade, for a very modern take on a staple style.
Camel has always been one of my favourite autumn/winter colours, but, of course, it’s a shade that works well all year round, and I really like the fact that the bright turquoise on these heels brings a hint of springtime to a dull winter day. The heel height here is 4.3″, which is slightly lower than I’d assumed from the images, but which will still make these feel a trifle unsteady if you’re not used to heels, as there’s no platform to balance out the height. Given that these probably aren’t the kind of thing you’d wear for the morning commute, however (unless it’s a particularly short one), that’s probably not something you’ll need to worry about!
These are gorgeous! I love the color combination!
Ooh lovely! I’ll take a pair thanks 🙂
