Can you believe these shoes are by Ed Hardy?

I couldn’t.

I’ve always associated the Ed Hardy brand with the heavily-logo’d tattoo prints that made it famous, and I never thought the day would come when I’d stumble across an Ed Hardy item I’d actually wear: it’s just so far removed from my personal taste that it’s not even on the same planet most of the time. And yet, here we are: these shoes do have a logo on the heel, but it’s actually pretty discreet, and I would happily wear them. In fact, I really like them, and I say that as someone who typically likes plaid only slightly more than she likes Ed Hardy.

As well as having a subtle logo, though, these also have a reasonably subtle print, with the earthy tones of this particular tartan being much more calming than some of the more lurid colours you see. I think they look wonderfully autumnal, and they’re the kind of thing that would work really well with all of the tweeds and corduroy that’s always around at this time of year, don’t you think?

And they’re by Ed Hardy. I would never have guessed.

  • I would totally get these in a heartbeat and I DISLIKE Ed Hardy, strongly.

I was looking for a new pair of nude/brown heels to replace my tweed ones.

  • Every fall I become obsessed with tartan and houndstooth, so these are calling to me. I never in a million years would have guessed these were by Ed Hardy.
