THE SHOES: Sergio Rossi leopard print sandals, £730
I love leopard print on most other shoe styles, so it stands to reason I’d also love a good pair of leopard print sandals! These ones by Sergio Rossi definitely count as a good – actually, make that a GREAT – pair of leopard print heels – so I’m going to pretend I haven’t even noticed the astronomical price tag, and just indulge in a little bit of fantasy-shopping with them.
I’ve mentioned in the recent past that I think leopard print shoes are best kept as simple as possible, without too many fussy details. Animal print makes enough of a statement on its own not to need too much else, really. In this case, however, I think the little velvet bow on the toe adds to, rather than detracts from, the overall appearance of these shoes, and it also gives them a sweetness that is sometimes missing from shoes in this particular print.
These have a 4″ heel, and, according to Net-a-Porter, will have gone through no less than 120 quality checks before leaving the factory, so you can rest assured that you’ll be getting some high quality shoes for your £730. Wait a minute: I said I wasn’t going to think about the price, didn’t I? Let’s think about what to wear with them, instead:
Again, simplicity was the guiding principle with this look. I’ve had my eye on this little black dress from River Island for a few weeks now – although it may not look like much in the photo, I think it’s the kind of dress that could be amazing in real life, and which could easily be dressed up or down. This look is obviously on the dressed UP side, but try it with boots, tights, and a chunky cardi for a more relaxed look.
