Karen Millen wedges, £195
As wedding season gets closer, shoes have been getting progressively dressier and paler, to appeal to brides and wedding guests alike. These Karen Millen wedges would work for either, but they’d work just as well for those of us who don’t have a wedding on the calendar this summer, but who like to have a comfortable pair of dress shoes waiting in the wings just in case.
I say “comfortable”… I haven’t tried these personally, so I obviously can’t swear to it, but wedges do tend to be that bit easier to walk (and dance!) in than their stiletto-heeled sisters, so these could be a good choice for events where you’re likely to be spending a lot of time on your feet. I like the fact that the front of the shoe is sophisticated and understated, while the heel is totally ready to party, thanks to all those little crystals on the heels. The soft gold colour, meanwhile, will work with, oh, just about ANYTHING, really. Just keep these away from wet grass if you’re attending an outdoor event – I don’t fancy the chances of those satin uppers against mud or grass-stains!
Love these!
