ASOS ‘Loveboat’ boat shoes with heart detail

ASOS boat shoes

Despite my love of all things nautical, I’m not a fan of boat shoes. At all, in fact. So, why am I showing you these ones from ASOS? Because these ones are the only deck shoes I’ve ever seen which I can actually imagine myself wearing. I’m not saying I’m going to rush out and buy them, and start wearing them when I’d normally wear stilettos, you understand. But if, say, I was invited on a boat trip (Yes, I know, it’s probably not going to happen, but I like to have a sartorial plan in place for every eventuality. You just never know when you’re going to be invited to lunch on someone’s yacht, do you?), and I knew I’d have to wear somewhat “sensible” shoes… I would rush out and buy these ones. Because they’re only £20, they’re pink and blue and unashamedly “cute”, and they have a loveheart detail on the vamp:

I’d wear them with a little white mini dress, or possibly cropped pants in the same colour. No, don’t tell me white isn’t practical on yachts, I’m not listening. Look, I’m sacrificing my heels here, what more do you want from me?

Wow, I’m so glad I have that “yacht” outfit sorted! You still won’t be seeing me in loafers any time soon, though.

P.S. I should probably make it clear that the above scenario was just supposed to be a joke: sometimes I like creating fantasy outfits for scenarios that will never happen to me – in those situations, anything goes!

  • White is perfect for yachting, however these dainty fabric slippers won’t last very long in pristine condition against sea water 🙁

    • lol! I knew someone would take that seriously! These are obviously just fashion shoes – sometimes I like to make up fake scenarios that would never actually happen to go with particular outfits/shoes: I wasn’t actually planning to wear them to sea:)

  • I do the same thing, Amber. The one I was playing with a while ago was date in which Geek and I went horseback riding in the Grand Canyon. Won’t happen, but it’s a nice thought train…
