Well, it’s been a long wait, and I have to admit, I’d almost given up on these shoes, but this weekend I finally – FINALLY – got my hands on a pair of the Zara asymmetric pumps I’ve been searching for since last year.
As regular readers will recall, I loved these shoes as soon as I set eyes on them, but they sold out almost instantly, and have been selling on eBay for crazy prices ever since: and when I say “crazy prices”, I really mean it – there are a couple of pairs on there at the moment listed at £170 Buy It Now. For Zara shoes. I mean, seriously.
I did buy these on eBay, which I think is probably the only place you can find them now, but luckily for me, I didn’t pay anything like that. In fact, I paid just a little more than retail price, which was breaking one of my own eBay rules, but given how long I’d been searching for them, and how rare it’s becoming to find them now, I figured it was worth it. As for WHY I managed to get them for that price, well, I took a bit of a risk. The seller didn’t have great feedback, you see, and I suspect that put a lot of people off bidding. To be completely honest, it would normally have put me off too, but, well, see the above excuses: I wanted the shoes, I knew how rare it was to find them at a reasonable price, so I decided I would risk it, knowing that I would at least be able to lodge a complaint with Paypal if they didn’t arrive. Now, this isn’t a risk I particularly recommend, but in this case it paid off: the shoes arrived on Saturday, and were exactly as the seller had described them, so I was a very happy Shoeperwoman!
I had wanted to hold out for this Zara version, rather than buying one of the many other versions available at the moment, because I’ve never really thought any of the other versions were quite as nice. Having finally got them, I’m glad I waited: I’d actually bought the River Island version last year, but ended up returning them because I just didn’t like the way they looked on my feet. These ones, however, are perfect, and are the kind of shoes I can see myself getting a lot of use out of: now I just have to decide what to wear with them first!
Haha! Yay you finally got them 🙂
Congratulations!!! I does seem in the pictures as if one shoe is slightly darker than the other though?
I think it must be either the flash, or just the way the suede was lying – they both look the same in real life…
So cool! Defo the original and best. The only ‘replicas’ that have turned my head are the office Kick Ass version – esp as they are leather and more wearable in the UK.
Good times, I’m chuffed for you! I tried to conduct my own search for these but being a size 5 means there are many others out there doing the same thing also. I did find some 2.5″ ones however at Dorothy Perkins which are more wearable for me (when I’m not wearing trainers) and Zara have some new D’orsay cut, platform, almond toe versions which look like a potential buy…
Praise ye gods, we can all rest easy now! Well done, perseverance wins out again. Looking forward to seeing what you pair them with.
Thank goodness, can’t wait to see them on your feet!
So happy for you! 🙂
Most beautiful shoes….
Yayyy! I’m happy for you! I know how much you wanted them! And they are fantastic! Can’t wait to see you wearing them!
Congratulations!!
