[Shoes available at Spartoo]
… have been my trusty white Converse sneakers.
I know! I mean, who even am I any more, right?
Don’t worry, I haven’t forsaken my beloved heels entirely, but my style has become a lot more casual this year – especially during the summer, when I got particularly lazy, and just didn’t want to have to think too hard about what I was wearing. During those times, my Converse were there for me. Mine are the low-profile Dainty Ox style, which I find a lot more flattering than many other styles of sneakers I’ve tried, because they don’t have that “massive white feet” look about them. (Er, I can’t be the only one who always thinks her feet look massive in sneakers… can I?), and, just to prove it, I’ve been wearing them with everything from jeans and leggings to a selection of stretchy dresses and pencil skirts. In fact, I think I might even prefer them with the skirts, purely because they’re such an easy way to dress them down. I mean, NOTHING can look dressy when you’re wearing it with Converse, right?
So, yeah, I think it’s safe to say I’m a convert: and while I do have some other sneakers tucked away in my closet right now, these are the only ones I actually bought TWICE, having worn out the first pair I owned, and realised I was going to have to replace them. This has literally never happened to me before with casual shoes, so once again I find myself repeating, “WHO EVEN AM I?”
Don’t worry, though: in the same week that I bought my second pair of Converse, I also bought what I think are my fifth pair of Office’s ‘On to Point’ pumps (in pink this time), which would definitely have out-ranked the sneakers in terms of ‘Most Worn Shoe of the Year’ if it wasn’t for the fact that I own too many pairs of them now to wear any one pair constantly. So, rest assured: the heels are going nowhere!
