Vivienne Westwood Melissa heart shoes, £98
By the time you read this blog post, I’ll be in sunny California (or possibly in Las Vegas), and I’m pretty sure I’ll be wishing I was wearing these shoes. In gold, ideally, but I wouldn’t say no to the red and white version either, because obviously not.
These Vivienne Westwood Melissa heart shoes, you see, are currently sitting right at the very top of my flat shoe wish, and they were also close to the top of my “things I’d like to buy for my vacation” list, too. Unfortunately for me, they were just too expensive to be justified, so I was forced to go without them, and I just know I’ll have come to regret it by now, because no matter how carefully I pack for a vacation, I ALWAYS end up with sore feet. There’s just so much walking to be done when you’re away from home, and it’s often done in a hotter climate than usual, too, which means your feet swell, and the shoes that were always perfectly comfortable back home are suddenly instruments of torture. Or is that just me?
Pretty much the only shoes which haven’t ever become uncomfortable by the end of a long walk, however, are my Vivienne Westwood / Melissa flats. I have a few pairs of these now (But no peep toes, which is why I wanted these so much – I have a feeling they’d be cooler to wear than the closed-toe versions I already own!), and they’re just the most comfortable shoes EVER. For that reason alone, I don’t think I’ll ever stop buying them, but, of course, the fact that they’re so cute doesn’t hurt either. This is a new take on the classic Vivienne Westwood heart shoes we’ve all seen so much of by now, and I love them – if only they were a little less expensive!
My friend complained that the peep toe on these pinches a lot – though that may be different for everyone…
