Probably not a great choice for any arachnophobia out there, these Roberto Cavalli suede sandals are designed to look like a giant spider web spread over the top of the foot.
The spidery effect is diminished somewhat by the color of these shoes: had they been black, they’d have had a very gothic feel to them, and would have run the risk of looking like part of a Halloween costume, but in this light grey, the spiderweb could easily be taken for a more generic pattern, although they’re still nicely unsual.
Like them? You can buy a pair at Net-a-Porter.
Oh, I love these – just like you said – unusual, but not costumy, exactly what I need in a pair of designer shoes… 🙂
Yeah, I think it would’ve been so easy to make them look Halloween-y, but they manage to avoit it quite nicely 🙂
Well, I suppose they are the colour of spider webs (after they got dusty). A prettier version would have silvery/peachy metallic straps to look like webs with dew on them.
You know YSL did it best with their cage sandals. And I am arachnaphobic so I couldn’t wear these without freaking out.
