I can always depend on River Island to provide me with a good selection of winter boots.
Literally, I mean. River Island have provided me with quite a few pairs of boots over the years, and there’s at least two pairs in my collection right now. They do a great line in sleek knee and over-the-knee boots which look more expensive than they actually are, and it looks like the Autumn/Winter 2013 collection is no exception.
While I really like the boots, however, I’m a little less impressed by most of the shoes on offer here. The two-part pumps and low loafers have a real 90s/early 00s vibe for me, and that’s just a little too recent a fashion era for me to want to revisit it anytime soon. In fact, I’m pretty sure I was forced to wear a pair of those black loafers (Well, ones very like them, anyway) back in high school, and “forced” is the operative word there, so to say I don’t like this style would be an understatement.
Still, that’s just me, and, as always with these previews, this is just a very small selection of the winter collection, so I’m sure there’ll be something to take my fancy: there almost always is with River Island!
Is there something to grab yours, though? Take a look at the gallery and tell me what you think!
Can’t say any of those particularly thrill me, but maybe that’s because we’re finally getting ready to say goodbye to winter and I want to think about open toe shoes again?
