Oasis ‘Chloe’ gold metallic sandals, £50

Oasis don’t make a lot of shoes, which is why I tend to associate the brand with clothes (particularly dresses), rather than footwear. The shoes they do make, however, are almost always worth a second look: they’re rarely flashy, or particularly unusual, but they are generally classic and wearable – the perfect compliment to the clothes, in other words.

These ‘Chloe’ sandals are a good example of what I’m talking about. These are the type of shoes that will fit in effortlessly with most of your evening-wear: the gold, sparkle upper is dressy without being OTT, and the shape is understated, but lovely to look at. The heel, meanwhile, isn’t ridiculously high, so these are one of the few pairs of evening sandals out there which you won’t be desperate to remove by the end of the evening – or at least, I hope not! Finally, at £50, they’re very reasonably priced, too, all of which makes me wish Oasis would make more shoes like them!

What to wear with gold sandals?

I’ve described these as “evening shoes”, but while the sparkly gold upper does suggest that that’s how they’d most often be worn, I decided to style these as part of a dressed-up daytime look:

What to wear with gold sandals:

trousers // sweater // sunglasses // handbag // watch

The combination of white/off-white and gold is one I wear fairly often in the spring and summer: I always think it’s a very luxe look, which makes you look like you’ve made an effort, even if you’re just wearing trousers and a sweater. I’ve also had my eye on this Ted Baker handbag for a while now: I’d happily wear almost everything Ted Baker makes, but I particularly like the versatile, light tan colour, finished off nicely by that little gold bow!

  • I was actually eyeing these up last week – they have them in a shinier silver too.

I bought a pair of pewter t-bar peep toes with a bow 3 years ago for my friend’s wedding from Oasis and was amazed at how comfy they were. I still wear them now, so when I spotted these gold ones I was seriously tempted to get them. You know, as an investment… 🙂

  • These remind me of a pair of shoes you (Amber) had recently saved in the challenge and had said that they were already seasoned and maybe would need replacing? I know those shoes were courts and didn’t have a ankle strap but something about them just reminded me of them and I was thinking they could be a good replacement pair.

I like how they are styled in the outfit, who knew gold shoes could work as a neutral?
