Nicholas Kirkwood color-block suede and patent-leather sandals, $1,210
If I was planning to spend $1,210 on a pair of shoes, these probably wouldn’t be the ones I’d go for. Well, I like to get my money’s worth (or to at least be able to persuade myself I’d be able to get my money’s worth), and these just aren’t the kind of thing I can imagine wearing every week, say.
On the other hand, if I was looking for the kind of statement shoe that no one else would have, and which would instantly become the centre of any outfit, these wouldn’t be a bad chance. At first glance the over-stated style is almost cartoonish, especially when you figure in the three bright colours, but it’s also rather fantastic, in a totally OTT kind of way. Those three colours work very well together, and when you see them on the foot, they’re actually a little more delicate than they appear in the product shot, which makes me slightly reconsider my opening statement, and think they could be as easy to wear as any other strappy sandal. They’ll work with any of the four colours in the upper, for one thing, the easiest option being the black used in the “swirl”.
What do you think of them?

I like these for summer… could be interesting on the right foot and with the right outfit.
It feels like there’s just too much going on with these shoes.
