The flame motif continues to infiltrate the footwear world, but whereas Prada looked to the 50s for inspiration for their recent flame sandals, these McQ Alexander McQueen pumps have a decidedly 80s feel to them, with their red and black uppers and pointed toes. That makes me like them a little less than some of the other flame-inspired footwear I’ve been showing you recently – the 80s just isn’t my decade! – but there’s no denying that these definitely bring the drama to the shoe party, and I have to admire them for that.
This is, of course, yet another variation on the classic, pointed toe pump, and it’s interesting to see what a difference the print can make to a shoe like this: in a plain colour, these would look very “safe”, but in this one, it’s a different look altogether.

I knew you were going to feature them ever since I saw them on net-a-porter a couple of weeks ago! I still havent decided how I feel about them, though I might like the flats version.
They’re okay, but a bit too 80s for my liking.
