Iron Fist ‘Indecent Obsession’, £74.99
I’ve never been much of an Iron Fist fan. I know the brand has a huge following, but while I do like the shape of the shoes, most of the prints are too busy/clashing for my taste. Because of that, I normally just scroll right past Iron Fist shoes when they pop up on the various retail websites I frequent, as part of my Shoeper Sleuthing duties. For some reason, though, I decided to stop and take a closer look at these ‘Indecent Obsession’ platforms, and… wow. Would you just look at that BOW, people! It’s absolutely fantastic, and now I have to eat my words, because a giant, polka dot bow is very much to my taste, as I’m sure most of you are aware by now.
The bow isn’t the only thing which drew me to these shoes, though. I also really like the shape of the stiletto, and the overall shape of the shoe. The strawberry print upper, meanwhile, is another winner: it’s perfectly summery, and a little more unusual than cherries (as much as I love them), so it also gets a thumbs up from me.
As much as I like all of the individual elements of these shoes, however, when you put them altogether, it still doesn’t quite work for me. I’ve never really been into the “mixed prints” look which so many fashion bloggers wear so well, and although I love the dots and I love the strawberries, I can’t help but look at these and think how much MORE I’d like them if they appeared on two different shoes. Give me this bow and heel, for instance, on a block-coloured shoe, and I’d be all over them. As they are, however, I think I’ll just leave them for those of you who’re much better at mixing prints than I am!
There’s just a bit too much going on for my liking. Love the shape though.
