Dorothy Perkins pink pumps, £32
I’ve been noticing a lot of shoes around in this particular shape recently: Dorothy Perkins describe it as a “wedge”, but the cut-out at the heel makes it a little different from the traditional wedge shape, so I guess it’s more of a demi-wedge than anything else.
Whatever you want to call it, there’s no doubt it creates a very bold, interesting shape, made even more eye-catching when you factor in that bright pink upper. I haven’t tried these on, but I’d bet they’ll be a lot more comfortable than a stiletto (especially given that the heel is only 3.5″), making them a nice way to add a bright colour and a very modern shape to what should prove to be a fairly practical shoe. For £35, you’ve probably guessed that they’re not real suede, but they certainly look the part in the product shots, and as Dorothy Perkins seem to have a constant stream of special offers and discount codes available right now, you might even be able to knock a few pounds off that already low price tag.
These are available in UK sizes 3-9, and you can find them at the Dorothy Perkins website.
I don’t like that heel shape at all.
