Ever since Dolce & Gabbana released their star print court shoes (shown above in black), I’ve been noticing a rash of other star print shoes starting to appear in the lower price ranges. The Dolce & Gabbana shoes are currently available for £419 at Louisa Via Roma, but if that sounds like a bit much, how about…
Aldo’s ‘Haffen’ platforms, $100. These have a platform and a less exaggerated toe than the designer version, as well as more matte upper. If those don’t appeal, though, how about…
Kurt Geiger’s ‘Horatio‘, £100. These have satin uppers and an oversized bow to top off the star-print look.
Finally, and for something completely different:
Irregular Choice’s Abigail’s Party boots, £75.60 at Sarenza, combining sequins AND stars!
I’m sure these won’t be the only star print shoes we’ll be seeing this season, but what do you think of the look in general? Does it get a yay or a nay?
Fancy dress party maybe? A female magician?
I actually prefer the Kurt Geiger version to the D&G. Not to keen on the Irregular Choice versions or the Aldo offering. I love a good star print though!
I like them, I really do, even with the pointed toe – well, Aldo is less exaggerated, like you said. I tried the KG ones twice on, and they are lovely and amazingly comfortable, but I would have liked them better with a smaller bow, so I didn’t buy them (but was so in doubt that tried on twice, in 2 different stores!) I have 2 pairs of IC Abigail booties, so I won’t buy these ones now, but they are loooooooooovely! (I love IC!)
It’s such a coincidence that I’m wearing a tunic/dress full of stars today (and saving a pair of boots for the challenge)! I loved the D and G star print (a dress) and looked for something similar, but of course cheaper! And found it!
I like the style in general, yes. But none of these have made me reach for my credit card, yet. Let’s see what comes up when the trend hits the high street…
I love the Haffen’s…what is it with me a platforms? It’s not like I’m not tall enough already!
I have no desire to buy shoes with stars on them, but if I did, I’d be getting the Aldo ones.
