Grey is a colour which tends to get ignored here in favour of the more interesting brights, or even the classic black. It can be a really great neutral, though (I ignore all of the people who say grey isn’t a colour, it’s a state of mind: when you have skin as pale as mine, it’s a lot less draining than black!), so today I’m flying the flag for grey with these Ravel platforms. The curvy sides on these are a little bit Nicholas-Kirkwood-esque, and I also really like the mix of suede and patent leather on the uppers. The sprinkling of studs on the heels also helps keep things interesting without being overwhelming, and the “rocking horse” platform adds to the final effect.
I really like them, but after all I’ve just said about grey, can you imagine how amazing these would be in bright blue, or mustard, for instance?
If you like them exactly the way they are, you can click here to buy them from Dorothy Perkins, where they’re £70.
I bought some grey shoes a few weeks ago. Haven’t worn them yet but I do like looking at them.
