ASOS Weekly Wish List | Midi skirts and more

OK, I give in: I’m  finding so many amazing pieces at ASOS right now that I’m just going to give them their own weekly slot, in which I can feel free to indulge myself in a spot of fantasy shopping, without having it take over the site completely. So, without further ado, here’s what I’ve added to my ASOS wish list this week:

ASOS floral bardot midi prom dress

floral Bardot midi prom dress, £95

I can tell just by looking at it that this dress would have to be altered: the model is 5’10”, and it’s long even on her, so it’d be practically ankle-length on my 5’4″ self. I think it would be worth the extra effort, though: this is yet another of the bardot midi dresses ASOS have been doing so well with recently, and I really love the black, green and white print, which would work just as well later in the year, too.

ASOS check pencil dress

ASOS check pencil dress, £42

Gingham has been my THING this summer (more so than usual, I mean), and this pencil dress is a really nice take on the trend. The large, monochrome checks are a little less “twee” than the print can be: I didn’t have to wear gingham as part of my school uniform, but I know many of those who did just can’t get rid of the “schoolgirl” associations it has for them. There should be no worries on that score with this dress, though, which is a grown-up way to wear checks, and a very unusual one, too.

high waist skiny crop trousers

ASOS high waist skinny crop trousers, £22

I actually took delivery of a pair of these trousers this morning, but had to send them back, as they were a little large in the waist. I’ve requested an exchange for the size down, however, and if those work out, I’ll probably order another couple of colours: although the fabric isn’t the thickest, they’re good value for £22, and I love the retro-inspired high waist and cropped leg. As the unfortunate owner of a long torso/short legs, high waists are most flattering on my finger (low-rise styles just make my legs look even stumpier!), but they’re not always easy to find on the high street, so I like to grab them when I find them!

full skirts

ASOS premium midi skirts, £75

I couldn’t end this round-up without mentioning the amazing array of midi skirts ASOS have available at the moment. For those of you who share my love of full skirts, this season has been a wonderful, albeit expensive one: I can’t seem to look at a fashion website without immediately finding a skirt I just HAVE to have… which means I should probably just stay away from ASOS at the moment, huh? These premium midi skirts are pricier than the usual range, but come in a selection of colours and fabrics, so you’re really spoiled for choice. And I’m going to finish this post right here, before I *accidentally* persuade myself to buy one…
