Zara lemon yellow slingbacks, £49
There just aren’t enough pairs of lemon shoes in the world, as far as I’m concerned. It’s such a great colour for spring/summer, and it’s one that’s often overlooked by shoe brands, for some reason. Not by Zara, though. They released a lovely pair of lemon toecap pumps last summer, and, unsurprisingly, they sold out pretty fast. (You can now find them on eBay for more than the original price tag…) They’ve now followed up with this slingback version: it’s minus the toe cap, but in a similarly fresh shade of yellow, and I really like it.
Judging by the first photo, the toe on these looks a little bit longer than I’d normally go for, so these possibly fall into the category of “shoes I’d need to see in person”. This pointed slingback style is one we’re seeing a lot of at the moment: I’m not sure if it’s because of the very “ladylike” turn fashion has taken this season, but this is the kind of style that works well with all of the full midi skirts that are also around right now: long may it continue!
What would you wear with these shoes?
Unusually for me, I decided NOT to style these with a midi skirt, although I did go for a skater dress, which is the next best thing, really:
What to wear with lemon shoes:
dress // bag // cardigan // earrings // watch
Daisy print has also been huge this season, and as you can see, I managed to find a couple of daisy accessories to pick up the print on this Dorothy Perkins dress. The shoes, off course, pick up the yellow colour on the flowers, but these would also work with plain black/navy, or with any number of other pastel shades – try baby blue or mint for a much more colourful look!
have you matched shoes with the dress or dress with shoes? everything is so perfect.
I would have a hard time saying not to these shoes.
Hi how do I put my size in and buy these shoes please? Thanks Sarah
