I’m guessing it’s probably no great surprise to anyone who reads this blog to know that I’m a huge Vivienne Westwood fan, both in terms of clothes and shoes.
These shoes, though? These trouble me. The, um, “toe ridges”, if that’s the right expression, are a big feature of the A/W 09 collection, and, well, “hate” is a very strong word, so let’s just say they make all of the shoes look like they were two sizes too small for their owner, who nevertheless decided to wear them anyway, to the point where the leather started to mold to their toes.
In other words: I’m not keen. If you are, though, the two styles shown here, and many more besides, can be found here. What do you think, though?
Those are just plain awful… Just when I thought I’d seen it all
I had these shoes
I loved them mainly because I thought they were quite a clever Idea and very quirky .
Some things just need to be fun and they looked great with my 50s little red spotted dress
I liked the red shoes until I saw those stupid toes.
I hope this style (and I’m using that word loosely) doesn’t catch on.
How are five toes supposed to fit into a four toed shoe? It’s just gross.
I find these very disturbing.

Oddly, I kinda like the toe effect in the bondage boot with the neutral leather straps. That somehow works. But on the shoes? Not good…

I am surprised nobody commenting liked the shoes, I have loads of pairs as they are my favourite shoe, so comfy too. I love the animal toes they are just so unique and a real pivotal element in Westwoods designs.
I just googled “ugly shoes” and your pages came up.
I can’t believe the amount and variety of ugly shoes out there now.
All this advancement in shoe design has brought us these creations?
I will never be caught dead wearing these monstrosities.
Alas.
