Emma Watson is one of those women who always manage to look effortlessly stylish, no matter what she wears. I bet a lot of people (myself included) would possibly shy away from the idea of wearing a simple pair of black trousers and white shirt to a movie premier, thinking the look would be way too dull for the occasion (Or that they’d be mistaken for a waitress), but Emma manages to make this ensemble look sleek, stylish and downright shoeper. (Sorry, I had to do it.)
The simplicity of the outfit also provides the perfect foil to these Gianvito Rossi leather and PVC pumps, which are £490 at Net-a-Porter:
This is another example of a shoe that looks much better on the foot than it does on its own. Here it is on Emma Watson:
Steal Emma Watson’s Shoe Style:
For anyone looking to take inspiration from this look – or, you know, outright copy it – your job is a pretty easy one: in fact, you may already own the necessary black trousers and white blouse. If you don’t, however, I’ve put together a high street version of Emma’s designer look: unfortunately I wasn’t able to find a high street dupe for the shoes, but I think these ones from New Look create a similar kind of effect, and I also like the way the gold on the ankle strap picks up the colour of the cuff:
Emma Watson’s understated style on a high street budget:
New Look shoes (£25) // River Island blouse ( £25) // Wallis cuff (£11) // Monsoon trousers (£51) // Topshop lipstick (£8)
The key to making this look stylish rather than just simple? It’s all the makeup and hair: Emma’s dark lips and carefully styled hair help give a very polished feel to an otherwise basic look, so don’t forget the lipstick!
That is so much more than just a white shirt. Emma always looks amazing. Those shoes aren’t for me but they definitely look better on a foot.
