I apologise in advance to anyone who really likes these shoes. These, you see, are yet another example of The Ones That Got Away.
I spotted these on the New Look website a while back, you see, and although I liked them, I didn’t think they were “all that”. Then I spotted them in the store this weekend and realised that, actually? These shoes ARE all that – and a little bit more into the bargain. The suede is soft, the studs add a bit of interest, the shape of the heel is – and I’m sorry to say this, but there’s really no other word for it – fierce. They are, in fact, exactly the kind of black court shoe I’ve been looking for for months now.
So what’s the problem, I hear you ask?
Well, they only had two pairs left. And they were both size 3. I wear a size 4. Gah.
I did, naturally, try to cram my feet into the size 3s, Ugly Sister-style (hence the photos above), but even I was forced to concede that it just wasn’t going to work. I was not going to the ball. Sigh.
When I got home, I had a quick look on the website again, but of course, the shoes are sold out in the black suede, although they are still available in gold and bronze. (These colours look nicer, and less shiny, in real life than they do on the website, but it was the suede that stole my heart.)
They’re just £25, and you can buy them here.
they are nice, but I have something that’ll make you feel better – I have a pair of nl shoes with those very same studs…and every time I go out, I lose one or two. They are short lived studs. This would ruin the shoe eventually.
Ah, I wondered if that might be the case – and yes, it does make me feel better! If they’d had them in my size, though, I’d have been unable to resist!
I can resist these shoes more easily than you, I think.
They are simply lovely! I can’t wait until December. You ‘n’ me have a date with New Look’s shoe department! 😀
