Strange things are happening to espadrilles. First these poor, innocent summer shoes were turned into boots by Zucca. And now Topshop have done it too, jumping right on board the “everything must be a boot” bandwagon and adding a puzzling leather upper to an espadrille wedge. I mean, these shoes are described on the site as “peep toe ankle boot sandals”. Two contradictions in one! That’s just all kinds of wrong, isn’t it?
I’m thinking of starting a “LEAVE OUR ESPADRILLES ALONE!” campaign in a bid to stop this madness. If, however, you think an espadrille boot is the best idea you’ve heard all year, you can buy these ones at Topshop.
Error number 1 – this is NOT a summer material. Hello sweaty feet.
2 – rope with leather? I am not a cowgirl.
3. colours, gross
4. It’s a BOOT?
5. It is indeed, a boot.
gross.
Imagine the tan lines!
Do they have some shoe designer that has crazy ideas all the time, but is related to someone higher up so they can’t afford to offend them, and are forced to publish their ideas? Because that’s what this right here says…
Eech!
No no no no no. No.
They kind of look like mutilated feet. I think you may have a ring of body part traffickers on your hands, Shoeperwoman.
Seriously, there is nothing right with these shoes.
HEHE NOBODY IN KENYA WOULD LOVE THIS NOT EVEN THE WITCHES
