WHAT: New Look tan slingbacks
WHEN: Saturday, August 6th, 2011
WHERE: Visiting family
WITH: Camel dress (ASOS), belt (free with River Island skirt), trench coat (eBay), bag (Miss Selfridge)
From an outfit with two bright colours to one where (almost) everything comes from the same colour family! And which makes me look a bit like I’m auditioning for the lead role in Nancy Drew, or something.
I actually do this fairly often, with the “everything in different tones of the same colour”. It’s lazy, and it can be a bit matchy-matchy, but God knows, I’ve never been one to shy away from either of those things, have I? Mostly, I was just interested in saving these:
New Look slingbacks, years old, worn to death, still going strong. One of many pairs of tan peep toes I own. Yes, I DO wear them all. Quite regularly, actually. As for what lies beneath the Nancy Drew trench:
A camel dress from ASOS. I also own this in cobalt. I went through a bit of a “twist-front dress” phase last winter..
I get pleasure out of matching colours. I know you’re not supposed to, but I can’t seem to help it: it totally delighted me that the shoes matched the bag.
I also get pleasure out of goofing around for the camera. I’ll grow out of it. Maybe.
I never wear colours like those, but I wll now that I see how good it looks on redheads! I love your coat too 🙂
Love the whole look. What’s wrong with matching? 😕
The pale pink lipstick suites you a lot, even more than red.
Love this! So cute….now click those heels and go solve some crime!
You look so cute! Lovely outfit! I love matching colors too! 🙂
The colours suit you so well! You look really tall too. Jealous on both counts!
I love your eye make-up in this post:) I’ve just gotten back from my holiday (with a horrible alergic reaction on my face?!!) and couldn’t wait to stop by your blog:)
Very beautiful outfit, so elegant, classy! Loved the coat and your makeup is lovely! I totally understand about posing to the camera, I love to start “funny” poses, my brothers says “such a teenager…!” But I find it nice!
you look like a private eye! on to the next clue, Sherlock! 🙂
Pish posh to all that ‘not supposed to’ stuff! The same people who are all against matching and using colour families are the same people who think harem pants and boots made to look like shoes are the height of fashion. The thing with the way you dress is EVERYONE can tell you look damn good, not just those pesky fashion types!
And I’m in love with that trench, especially the darker coloured piping 🙂
We don’t want you to grow out of it! I have a pair of tan peep toe sling backs but mine are wedges. I have never worn a pair of shoes so often!
simply stunning. I love your outfit and how you put everything together.
Nancy drew was my favorite book when i was younger so I’m loving the detectivelook 😛
i really love the whole trench coat with heels look!
