Miss Selfridge ‘Glam’ pale blue pointed court shoes ,£39
I’ve said it before, but January and February have to be two of the most frustrating months of the year for shopping. The stores are absolutely bursting with spring and summer clothes, and if you’re anything like me, you just can’t wait to wear them. That’s too bad, though, because if you LIVE anywhere like me, you know there’s a good few weeks left yet before you can even start to think about breaking out those pretty spring outfits. More than a few times recently I’ve caught myself staring wistfully at the peep toes and sandals on my shoe shelves, but we have more snow forecast as I write this, so shoes like the ones above just aren’t going to cut it.
It’s a shame, because these shoes are the perfect shade of baby blue, finished off nicely with a contrasting silver heel. This is a combination that works really well, and while I wouldn’t hesitate to wear the colour at the end of January/start of February (I’m actually a huge fan of winter pastels), the style wouldn’t quite be quite right for the snow, sadly. These have a 4″ stiletto heel, a pointed toe and a man-made upper (which helps explain the low price point), and although there’s nothing too different about the design, they’re the kind of shoes you can easily dress up or down, as required.
jacket / jeans / t-shirt / bag
I’ve gone for the latter option here, pairing these with skinny jeans and a simple, floral top. Ripped jeans aren’t something I normally go for, but for some reason I’ve been drawn to them lately. I’m pretty sure they’re not something I’d be able to pull off, but I do like the look of them on other people: and hey – they do say a change is as good as a rest sometimes!
