Dolce & Gabbana flower embellished satin sandals, £745
Dolce & Gabbana’s spring/summer 2015 collection is out. of. this. world. Seriously. I know I say this about almost every collection they do, but while the autumn/winter selection was gorgeous, I think this is a brand which really comes into its own in springtime, and once again, they haven’t disappointed. This collection is full of vintage-inspired dresses, with lots of polka dots and floral prints: there are some fabulous, retro-style one pieces, and, of course, there’s these shoes.
Strappy sandals are beautiful in real life, but rarely have the power to set the heart racing when I see them on the screen. In fact, as much as I appreciate the style, they have a tendency to blend into one another after a while: well, there’s only so much you can do with a style which minimises the appearance of the upper, isn’t there?
These sandals are different, though, and as soon as I laid eyes on that gorgeous flower embellishment, I knew they’d be appearing here. They’re feminine, fabulous, and just the thing to wear with flirty floral frocks, red lips and nails. Or with this beautiful red dress:
dress / bag / hair clip / lipstick
This dress is also by Dolce & Gabbana (so apologies for the frightening price tag), and is also from the SS2015 collection, so I guess it’s no surprise that it’s such a perfect match for the shoes. You wouldn’t have to stick exclusively to Dolce & Gabbana with these, though, of course: I think they’d also look fantastic with a little black (or white, or red, or blue…) dress, a pair of skinny cigarette pants, or even jeans, if you want to try to dress them down a little.
