River Island black studded ankle boots, £75
Anyone else got a touch of Party Shoe Fatigue yet? I have: which is kinda worrying, considering there’s still more than a month to go until the party season is over! In fact, it hasn’t even STARTED yet, but already many stores have their sales on, and you can’t move for glitter, sequins, and other appropriately “fancy” wares.
As much as I love a beautiful evening shoe, however, sometimes it’s nice to balance it out with something slightly more casual. Now, these ankle boots aren’t “casual”, exactly – they’re really quite glam, actually. It’s all down to how you style them, however: these are the kind of boots that will work perfectly well with a dress for evening, but which you’ll also be able to wear the next morning, with your favourite comfort clothes:
sweater // leggings // coat // bag
I’ve been really into loungewear lately: there’s just something about winter that makes comfort even more important than it is at any other time of year. I still love dressing up when the occasion demands it, obviously, but slouchy sweaters and thick leggings have been my go-to recently for days spent working from home, and evenings curled up on the sofa. The great thing about this kind of outfit is that although it’s every bit as comfortable as wearing pyjamas, all you have to do to make it streetwear-appropriate is to add a great pair of boots – with these ones fitting the bill perfectly. They elegant shape and all-over studs instantly take this outfit from “I might have slept in this” to “I totally made an effort: no, really!” And it’ll STILL be comfortable to wear, albeit those stilettos probably won’t be QUITE as comfy as your slippers!
Add a warm coat and a oversized back, and you’re ready to hit the shops, go out for lunch, or whatever else your day demands!
