Shoe Deja Vu: Coast ‘Lana’ and Nicholas Kirkwood bow sandals

I’ve hoping for a long time now that a high street brand would create an “inspired by” version of Nicholas Kirkwood’s beautiful bow sandals, and it would seem my wish has been granted!

Coast’s ‘Lana’ heels are a true case of designer inspiration: they’re not exactly the same as the originals – in fact, they’re almost totally different – but that dramatic sideways bow is unmistakeably influenced by Kirkwood, and that alone was enough to give me a strong sense of Shoe Deja Vu.

The Coast shoes are available in two different colourways: the black and cream shown above, and this beautiful purple:

I think they’re absolutely beautiful, and at £80 they’re something of a bargain compared to the Nicholas Kirkwood version, too. If you’re looking for a bow dress to match your bow shoes, meanwhile, I’ve been coveting this one, also from Coast, for weeks now:
