Shelleys of London, $95.99
I can’t quite believe I’m about to say this, but for what has to be the first time in my life, I’ve managed to find a pair of mint green shoes with a giant bow on the toe which I DON’T want to buy. Trust me, I’m just as surprised about this as you are.
It’s not because they’re flat, surprisingly enough, because although they lack the height I so love, they make up for it by being the perfect colour, and the perfect shape. And, oh yeah, having the (almost) perfect embellishment on the front.
No, the reason I don’t want to buy these is because of the t-bar. I find t-bars difficult even on heels: I really like the look of them, but I always find them a little bit childish somehow, and that effect is only intensified when they’re used on a flat shoe. As much as I love the look of these, then, I know I’d really struggle to style them, so they’re not going onto my wish list. I did want to feature them here, though, because as far as t-bar flats go, I can’t remember ever seeing a cuter pair, and I know they’ll look amazing on someone.
Will that someone be you? You can find these at Modcloth, if so.
I totally get the strap thing – I hate even ankle straps, but sometimes give in because of the simple beauty of the rest of the shoe. Having said that, I recently found myself taking a very sharp knife to the strap on a pair of shoes (from Office and so, not that expensive!). With these, I’d just slice off all the straps – though I dislike mint green, I dislike flats and would be loathed to pay so much for a pair of flats only to cut them up!
I would buy them if they had heels. I do not approve of straps on flats at all.
