Carven pink gingham closed-toe shoes, £378
Aha! I knew there had to be another pair of gingham shoes hiding out there somewhere, and sure enough, here they are! Well, I have a black pair and and a blue pair: I really should complete my collection with a pink pair, shouldn’t I?
Don’t worry, I won’t be adding these to my gingham shoe collection any time soon. Not only are they out of my budget at £378, although they’re close to being perfect, they’re not quite there. I’d personally like the toe to be slightly pointier, and the vamp a little lower, although, speaking of the vamp, it does have an interesting wavy design, which is pretty cool:
Ultimately, though, it’s the print that gives these shoes their wow factor: I’ve talked so much about gingham print lately that I won’t bore you all by repeating myself, but, as with polka dots and stripes (my two other all-time favourites!), this is a print that never fails to make me smile, and which I think adds instant interest to any outfit.
What would you wear with these shoes?
These are a style that could work equally well dressed up or down. They’d be amazing with a white sun-dress, for instance, but I love the look of gingham print with denim, so for this look I’ve decided to style them with a pair of classic blue skinny jeans:
What to wear with pink gingham shoes:
jeans // lace top // pink bag // watch
Although this is a fairly casual look, the pretty lace top (love that sweetheart neckline!) really dresses it up. It’s also the kind of item that would work well with lots of different styles, actually: another one for the wish list, perhaps!
I like the vamp shape. Also the pink. Dammit.
