Oscar Tiye glitter Minnie Sandals
I’m going to take a wild guess that when you read the words “Minnie sandals” in the title of this post, you had a rough idea of what to expect from the shoes in question, didn’t you? I know I did: this isn’t the first time we’ve seen Minnie Mouse inspire a shoe design, but it IS one of the best, in my opinion, and the reality of the shoes was even better than what I was expecting from the description, with that gold glitter upper (These also come in black, for even MORE of a ‘Minnie’ effect), and the cute little ears at the back of the heel.
For me, this is the right way to do “whimsical” when it comes to footwear. These are different enough to set them apart from the legions of other glittery or strappy sandals out there, but while there’s no denying where the inspiration came from, it’s not so literal that you’ll feel like you’re wearing a costume. (Irregular Choice, for instance, would probably have put an ACTUAL Minnie Mouse figurine on the heel…) People probably WILL still be staring at your shoes all night, obviously, but how could they not, if you were wearing a pair of sandals as gorgeous as these ones? Exactly.
The other thing I like about these shoes is the hot pink insole. Yes, I know no one would even see it when the shoes were being worn, but I like to view my shoe collection as a work of art – and to display it accordingly – and not only will the insole make these nicer to look at when you’re NOT wearing them, I always see this kind of attention to detail as one of the signs of a quality pair of shoes, too.
