I know, I know: the very LAST thing I needed was another pair of jelly shoes. Or peep toes. Or black shoes in general, really.
BUT.
I had a discount code to use with our site sponsors, Spartoo, and it had been burning a hole in my computer. I hadn’t really seen anything I desperately wanted: I mean, I’d seen plenty of stuff I liked, but my panic about not managing to save all of my shoes by the end of the challenge – and specifically, all of the summer shoes by the end of the summer – had forced me to at least try to be a little more restrained with my purchases.
Then, last week I happened to take a look at the site, and I noticed that these Melissa shoes were on sale, and only available in my size. Well, it would’ve been silly not to, really, wouldn’t it?
I actually hadn’t considered buying the Lady Dragons in black before, but I have to say, I absolutely love them. The main reason I managed to justify these was that I think I’ll be able to get a lot of use out of them in Autumn/Winter as well as in the warmer months: I don’t often wear peep toes with tights, but the peep toe on the Lady Dragons is small and the bottom of the heart actually mostly hides it when you’re wearing them, so I think it could work. And, of course, I’ve seen Fi wear her Lady Dragons with tights before and it always looks fantastic, so I figured I’d give it a go.
Once again, I went down a size with these to get the perfect fit. For some reason, they actually feel even more comfortable to me than the other two pairs I own, but I guess the true test will come when I try to wear them all day!
P.S. Should you want to see some more of these, I’ll have some extra pictures on my Facebook page soon!
Cute 😉
haha! did exactly the same as you and got them in my size!! yes the peep toe hole is truly tiny, my fat toes can’t really fit through, but I thought the same as you, that with tights they could work pretty nicely. For me they are actually a bit tight around my toes, but I’m hoping that wearing them a bit will make them give??? I just need a teeeny weeeeny micro-inch of give so I’m crossing all fingers and toes as they are too pretty to get rid of 🙂 I wore mine in an outfit post recently http://www.fashionlimbo.com/2011/07/what-i-bought-shoes-vintage.html
also dear Amber, the link to your facebook page in the last paragraph takes you to a pair of pretty t-bar shoes in the New Look website, stop shopping for shoes!!! 😛
They are so pretty! I am not usually the one to go for gold but here it just fits amazingly!
Droooool. I’m waiting for the Cocosa sale for my pretties! x
Just out of curiosity, how are these shoes to wear? I’m considering the cherry ones as wedding shoes but I’m a little worried the rubber might squeak or rub! X
I’ve never noticed any squeaking, but that might just be me! I wrote a post about them here:

Some really helpful comments from readers about what the shoes are like to wear on this one too!
I don’t know what you’ve done to me Amber. I never thought I’d say it but I desperately want those jelly heels!
They are cute. I like the bronze (?) heart.
So jealous…been craving these since I first saw them
